This year in our cherry blossom tree out back, we got a Robin's nest and figured there were some eggs there even though we couldn't see them. Well, the other day I was sitting on the couch with my laptop, facing the window looking out at the nest. I see a crow perched right above the nest and I think "oh no!" but I don't do anything...it bends down and pulls out a little blue egg!! I hear lots of tweeting and chirping and I see the momma robin swoop down at the crow but he doesn't even flinch. He fly's out of my view and I'm kinda sad for the little bird, but still I don't do anything, I didn't want to go scare the crow and make him drop the egg on the patio!! Icky! I go back to my work and then 2 minutes later I look out the window, and there is the crow again! He go's down and takes another egg! I seriously don't believe whats going on right before my eyes! There was some more chirping and swooping done by the momma bird and then he fly's out of view! He doesn't come back and neither does the mother robin. After dinner my family was watching TV and my mom mentions the nest....so I tell her what happened and she is sad and I said it was like watching a nature show but live. My mom acted like it was a complete felony and that I had killed the birds myself! I mean, it didn't make any difference that I was sitting there and didn't do anything, it would have happened anyway...I guess she wanted me to do something. I felt bad but it's nature. Yesterday I was outside and my dad was doing yard work and on the rocks under our ferns was a little cracked blue shell.... :(
